Fifth + Fifth Lobby and Podium Renovation

Fifth & Fifth is the colloquial name for a 34 storey 1980s office tower located at 5th Avenue and 5th Street in Calgary. The soaring lobby and exterior podium retained formal qualities but required extensive improvements. The design response proposed S, M and L (Small, Medium and Large) interventions. The S version was purely interior lobby work. The M scope added the entrance volumes. The L scope included a reworking of the entire podium up to the +15 level. The L vision was approved for the refresh that opened in 2010. The structural glass, awning armature and large facade 5 make this building Class A and distinct in the downtown core.
