A woman’s simple dream to own an all female staffed barbershop is the inspiration for this project. Her desire included creating a place that spoke of modernity while at the same time offering all the comforts of a local coffee or wine bar. The resulting project is a fresh and simple space that embodies a warehouse vibe with splashes of modern ff&e and colour. The overall plan is broken into three zones: a public café/bar and waiting area, a semi-public old style barber chair service zone and a private back-of-house product/laundry and changing room zone. A search for the right home for this project led the owner to every corner of the city.
While it remains unbuilt at this time, dreams never die but just live on until they can be fulfilled.
