Abdullah bin Khalifa FIFA Stadium
Lekhwiya Precinct, Doha, Qatar
Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium is situated on the outskirts of Doha, Qatar. As the flag ship stadium for the FIFA World Cup 2022, the 10,000 seat venue cradles a regulation size pitch and is flanked by training facilities and a place or worship, The structure is a hybrid of pre-cast and soaring cantilevered steel trusses. Like fingers, the trusses support a membrane canopy to provide shade and mitigate intense temperatures. The interior spaces, including private chambers and a broadcasting booth, utilize the finest materials and furniture available. The Emir of Qatar and family frequent the stadium for matches and require an unparalleled degree of privacy. The use of masharabiya screens, cut in exquisite patterns, is prevalent in the ME for providing privacy and beauty.
